MeWa is expanding into South-Eastern Europe

The countries of Eastern Europe are seeking to catch up with EU standards, and that also applies for the recycling sector. Gechingen-based MeWa Recycling Maschinen und Anlagenbau GmbH has now reacted to the increase in demand. In future, a new subsidiary will serve the entire South-Eastern Europe region from the company’s registered office in Györ in Hungary, thus ensuring its activities are considerably closer to the market.

In the new member states of the EU, waste disposal is at the start of a modernisation process. Legislation has been created that is compliant with EU directives. Waste management companies are increasingly investing in recycling plants.

MeWa now sees itself as ideally equipped for this development. The newly established MeWa Recycling Maschinen und Anlagen Vertrieb Region Ost GmbH with its team of mother-tongue sales professionals for the individual countries provides the necessary proximity to the customers. With its optimised sales structure, coupled with new product innovations, MeWa is setting a clear signal for the company’s continued successful development, even in the generally difficult economic situation.

The company’s own pilot plant at the site in Ács is available for tests with the MeWa machinery. In addition, a comprehensive spares parts ware-house stocks everything needed for repairs at short notice.

The management of the newly established limited liability company (GmbH) will be assumed by Gabor Vidak, the office in Györ will be managed by Eva Takács. Both have already developed the South-Eastern European market very successfully for MeWa to date. In the mid-term, the sales team and the on-site team are to be increased from 10 to 15 em-ployees. The production of the MeWa machines and the system planning will continue to be done solely in Germany.
