Helmut Wiedemann joins board of directors at MeWa

With reinforcements in its board of directors, coupled with new products, Gechingen-based MeWa Recycling Maschinen und Anlagenbau GmbH will continue to pursue its strategy of growth. Helmut Wiedemann was appointed a director as of 01.01.2009 and Helmut Oberguggenberger has been given power of sole representation.

It was an impressive sight at the 2008 annual end-of-year party at MeWa Recycling when all 35 of the colleagues who have joined the company in the last two years were introduced. The workforce of the Gechingen-based recycling company has grown by almost a third in this period.

In line with corporate growth, MeWa has adapted its organisational structures further to increased market demands. In this context, Helmut Wiedemann was appointed a member of the board of directors, effective at the beginning of 2009. In future, the top-class technologist and mechanical engineer will manage the company alongside the managing partner Heimo Wabnig, Helmut Oberguggenberger and Ulrich Hink. Helmut Wiedemann has already been active in the company for several years as the head of design engineering and operations. In future, the 52-year-old will also assume responsibilities as the company’s technical director.

Helmut Oberguggenberger gained a degree in economics at the renowned universities of global trade in Vienna and Milan. The first contact between the 39-year-old and the mechanical and plant engineering company MeWa in Gechingen developed during his studies. After completing his degree, the native Austrian joined the company as a management assistant. It was only a short time before he was given power of attorney, and Helmut Oberguggenberger has been a member of the company management since 2005. Since 1 January 2009, he has held sole power of representation. Oberguggenberger will thus be able to represent the company to third parties on his own in future.
