The Austrian company UFH RE-cycling GmbH builds new refrigerator recycling plant by MeWa
There is another big order for MeWa in Europe. In Kematen/Ybbs in the region of Lower Austria UFH starts to work on the new facility for refrigerator recycling with its unique technology. The UFH RE-cycling GmbH is a newly founded joint-venture of the UFH Holding and the German Remondis Electrorecycling GmbH, which is the fourth largest recycling company of the world.
Most important advantage of the new plant, whose principle is based on the cryo condensation, is the possibility of processing refrigerators containing CFC as well as pentane. So there is no time needed for the presorting of the units – the results are reduced costs. Additionally the modern plant delivers a big advantage for the environment: Every year around 900.000 tonnes of the carbon dioxide could be saved.
In Great Britain MeWa has grown up as a market leader in the cryo condensation technology based refrigerator recycling plants. And now, there will be such a new plant in Austria, which can process approximately 300.000 units a year. So there could be a market coverage of 100% with only one facility.
The UFH RE-cycling GmbH will start at the beginning of the year 2009 with a three shift operation.
